The website also is the home of JT Art and features original artwork created by John Tavanian. We live and work in our homebased studio located in scenic coastal Rhode Island.

Making jewelry has been my creative outlet since 2005. I am passionately inspired by the intricate detail and creative possibilities offered by fine metals, gemstones and beads. I love to create unique designs, and am inspired by the endless beauty in nature. Each piece of jewelry that I create has a meaning and is inspired by something that I feel or see around me. I try to be as unique and original as possible - creating pieces that come from my heart.

Art school, exhibitions, shows, galleries, commissions. No, none of these. I am self-taught later in life. Just me, my art supplies, and a desire to create simple, minimalistic paintings with very little in the way of bright saturated colors. Much like the way I think and live. My paintings are basically meditations, and represent nothing, other than that which the viewer sees or feels. For me, painting is a Zen experience. When I paint, I try to let go and allow life to create as it will. I try to accept what comes. It’s not always easy. All too often my ego wants to get in the way and focus in on what it thinks are mistakes. But sometimes, if I allow things to just flow along as they will, a pretty decent painting turns out. I hope you agree.
